Group Deputy Finance Controller

UNIT9 are a group of production studios, specialising in creating stories that unfold across multiple platforms. Our work is predominantly completed in-house, as a coordinated effort between our film division and our experts in technology, gaming, animation and social media. We create and market our own products as well as developing bespoke solutions for advertising agencies and brands.

Job Purpose: The role is to support the Group Financial Controller in all areas across the group.

Key Responsibilities:
– Production of timely and reliable monthly consolidated account
– Proactively assist finance managers who head up the 8 companies based across the US, UK
and Europe
– Support Managing Directors with planning, expansion, operational finance integration
– Monitor company controls and procedures, providing guidance and support
– Analysis and variance reporting, including quarterly KPI reporting
– Assist with annual budgets, weekly cash-flow forecast and reporting
– Oversea group intercompany recharges and transactions – reconciled monthly
– Facilitate the end-to-end audit process, while acting as a point of contact for external auditors.
– Coordinate video games tax relief and R&D claims, working alongside third party consultants to
improve efficiencies and overall claim, in line with audit timetables
– Manage the quarterly group VAT returns
– Facilitate smooth transition of group strategic changes

Skills Specification:
-SAGE 50 Accounts experience essential
-Qualified accountant or qualified by significant experience
-4 years’ experience – industry specific desirable but not essential
-Advanced user of Excel
-Company financial accounting experience, including compliance
