Netflix: Sonic Shatterverse Experience
Netflix’s new film ‘Sonic Prime’ needed a launchpad to invite its fans into its vibrant, action-packed world. They wanted an experience to celebrate its launch that was fun, engaging and accessible for ages. Enter the Sonic Shatterverse.
We created an interactive monolith on the Third Street Promenade in Los Angeles to raise awareness of Sonic Prime. Fans jumped, ran and spun in front of the monolith’s screen, showing off their best Sonic moves to navigate multiple worlds in the Sonic Shatterverse.
We used dual-tracking cameras to follow guests within the designated interactive areas. This allowed us to create a mini-game that could tell when guests jumped and ran, allowing them to transport in real-time into other digital worlds on the screen.
Fans were rewarded with a personalised video of their Shatterverse journey to share with their friends and, for some lucky players, a limited edition ‘Sonic Prime’ poster.
The Sonic Shatterverse monolith was a celebration of ‘Sonic Prime’ and its fans. It reminded us that sometimes, the greatest experiences are the ones that get us moving, laughing, and sharing.
