Hardware Engineer (full-time)
UNIT9 is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer to join our Dev team in a permanent position in London. The candidate we’re looking for will have three or four years of experience minimum, working on interactive permanent or traveling installations.
You will be working closely with our technical digital, and creative leads and be responsible for all hardware aspects of a project. You will have the opportunity to work across various digital projects and create bespoke solutions for installations.
The role may involve off-site travel within the UK or globally.
Requirements & Qualifications
-You are a team player passionate about digital and interactive creativity, and new technologies. You’ve developed custom solutions on microcontrollers such as Arduino and Rasberry Pi. Developing on Python and Arduino code base and creating bespoke librairies has no secret for you. Solution driven, you bring to the production and development teams out of the box and creative ideas to any challenge you face.
-When it comes to electronics, you can design electrical and network schematics, and know how to interface with sensors. Not to forget, you can do high-quality soldering and love cable management.
-You have a great understanding of data exchange via UPD and WS protocols, database languages and know your way around GIT or other software repositories.
-You have the writing skill to translate instructions on how to run bespoke software and hardware in an organized and constantly updated documentation.
-Taking ownership for hardware-related portions of the project:
establishing the hardware requirements
designing electrical/network schematics
testing and validating hardware
dealing with manufacturers
developing custom solutions
setup/maintaining technical documentation
training, supporting and debugging
installing projects in various locations
-Working in close collaboration with many teams and leads to solve problems
-Investigating and developing solutions
-Contributing to the successful delivery of complex and innovative projects
